The absence of the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, forced the Democratic
Party members to cancel the plan for surrounding the Parliament
building. Prime Minister Edi Rama was able to enter freely from the side
door.
The Democrats blocked only the main entrance, with their request for the resignation of the Parliament Speaker, so that there can be an independent and thorough investigation.
“Ilir Meta must resign and be brought to justice. Let’s take the country to early elections”, declared the Democratic Party MP, Edmond Spaho.
The former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, was part of the protest and declared that the only power are the citizens.
“Nothing will be able to remove the crime that has occupied this Parliament except for a peaceful and democratic revolution”, Berisha declared.
The former Prime Minister told the journalists that the opposition will demand international experts for investigating the accusations of MP Tom Doshi, who implicates the Parliament Speaker in an alleged assassination plot.
The opposition says that they will report another government member that has connections with the crime.
“A foreigner told me that there is a minister in this cabinet that has 200 phone calls with criminals in his country. We will make the name of this minister on the right time”, Berisha declared.
According to the former Prime Minister, the symbol of this majority related to the crime is MP Mark Frroku. Berisha considers that he is the key person for Doshi’s case.
“Mark Frroku is the face of this Parliament, the face of this government. It is vital that the citizens must take responsibility for putting crime outside the institution of the Parliament”, Berisha declared.
