Yesterday’s accusations for some doctors of abuse with the patients’ treatment at the Oncology hospital in Tirana, caused strong debates in the Albanian parliament today.
Opposition’s DP Albana Vokshi along with her opposition colleagues issued strong accusations towards former health ministers of and the current one Albana Koçiu, as supporters of the abuses.
“Koçiu, Manja, Manastirliu should not have been in that chair, they all knew about the scandal at the oncology hospital, they were all aware. The head of corruption are these ministers, the leaders of the QSUT hospital”, said Vokshi.
The reaction from the government came from Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.
“Justice is taking all measures to put the law in place. These stories with ministers who have to go, you can ask for them but the minister must continue his work. We are shocked and disgusted by everything they have done, I will start a request to change the law to revoke the license of these doctors”, said Balluku.
The MPs of the opposition and the majority do not seem to put the lives of patients as a priority, but made politics with the scandalous event. Albanian legislators did not deal with the problem, asking when the business with the patients’ lives will end, sending them from state hospitals to private ones for profit, and what are the guarantees that this event will not be repeated.
