The mistery of the stolen treasure

From the verifications made so far in the four blocked companies in Fortuzi neighborhood, companies that are mentioned by Bitraj, say he did not spend more than 300 thousand euro, while the amount is 713 million lekë.

Although the data indicate that Bitraj has been a gambler, prosecution insists that the evidence so far has cut down all doubts that he is the only one who has benefited all the money stolen.

From previous investigations, is suspected that two of his closest associates have been Bitraj’s nephew, Klevis Bejtjaj, Mimoza Bruzja and former Director of Treasury Branch, Dorian Çollaku.

Leaving the Treasury Department in that state without regulation and without a vault, says prosecution, may have been something made in purpose and not by negligence or incompetence.

Currently Ardian Bitraj is in prison number 302 and upon request of an investigation of prison authorities is prohibited to meet his lawyer or family members.
While the number of persons subject to investigating is 70, who are parents, husbands and wives and brothers and sisters, as well as brothers in laws of the 10 arrested so far.

But, says the prosecution, unofficially there is still no response from relevant institutions such as mortgages, commercial banks, ALUIZNI and Property Registration Office for the accounts and property assets of each of them.

This delay is probably due to the summer holidays; however, the investigation body hopes that in September they will have all the relevant reports.
