April 9th 1999 is a day that Kosovo citizens will not forget easily.
On this day took place one of the bloodiest but also most heroic battles of the KLA.
In this battle KLA liberated the border with Albania, opening this way the corridors for supplies.
The battle has a historic importance also for the way how it was organized, the success it reached and the terrain where it took place.
The merit goes to the “Agim Ramadani” Brigade 138 and all people involved, who didn’t hesitate to contribute despite the huge risks.
The immediate defeat of Belgrade’s troops came as result of a powerful offensive from this brigade, after a long preparation, intensive training and careful study of enemy movements.
The hit was a combination of sudden attacks, followed by quick maneuvers from Special Forces, which destroyed Serbian forces in a record-breaking time.
114 KLA members were killed in KOshare, 350 others were wounded. The Serbian troops, aided by Russian mercenaries and other slavs, lost more than 100.
