The news for slaying 1000 sheep for the celebrations of the 100th
anniversary of Albania has caused a international reaction through the
daily “The Guardian”, which considered it a slaughter.
An article published on their website quoted the Socialist Party that called this a ” grotesque embarrassment”.
The article considers this way of celebration primitive, and reflects how it has been opposed by many Albanians and foreigners who protect animal rights.
The Guardian reports that they had been unable to contact the Prime Ministry and the respective institutions for an official comment about this issue.
