The Albanian government announced today that it has canceled all public procurement procedures. The only tenders not affected by the measure are those related to the CoVid-19 health emergency.
The news was confirmed by the director of the Public Procurement Agency, Reida Kashta, who said that state institutions should take measures to suspend all procurement procedures, which are not closely related to the situation.
“Contracting authorities should pursue the procurement process only for those procurement procedures that are closely related to the coverage of needs arising from the situation caused by the Covid 19 pandemic,” the PPA press release said.
It is also announced that ongoing procurement procedures which are not related to the situation caused by the pandemic will also be suspended until a second notice.
