The Parliament will discuss and vote a draft-resolution that supports Albania’s EU accession negotiations.
The 10 points of this draft-resolutions are in full accordance with wha the German Parliament has requested Albania to accomplish.
One day after the publication of this draft, Top Channel’s journalist, Muhamed Veliu, reported that the former Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, had proposed some amendments.
He says that the draft-resolution of this year should be based on the work that has been started from the moment that the European Commission has first recommended the opening of the Eu accession negotiations.
The negotiations process with the EU, besides being very hard and challenging, clearly goes beyond the term of this legislation.
This is why it is necessary to take gradual steps that are based on annual achievements, according to Bushati.
The former Minister also proposes that the Parliament commits to cooperate and encourage the other responsible institutions, with the purpose to guarantee the establishing and functionality of the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court, the Special Prosecution against Corruption and the National Bureau of Investigation within 2019.
Bushati’s amendments foresee when the electoral reform should also be concluded.
“The parliament of Albania commits to complete the electoral reform within 2019, in full accordance with the OSCE-ODIHR recommendation, in order to guarantee a free, fair, honest and democratic electoral process”, Bushati says.
Mr.Bushati also underlines the significance of the direct government responsibilities in this process.
