The Cham Resolution

The Parliamentary Commission of Foreign Affairs started today the review
of the Cham Resolution proposed by the Party for Justice, Integration
and Unity.

MPs Idrizi and Tahiri explained the importance of this resolution and how it would bring justice to a historical matter.

“This is a historic resolution because it aims bringing a clear platform that resolves not only the Cham resolution, but also the inequality between Albania and our southern neighbour. We cannot concede endlessly to Greece, pardoning debts, not standing for our dignity and not asking reciprocity. They have built cemeteries in Albania; they are searching in hundreds of locations for the remains of their soldiers, although they were part of a war that was occupying Albania in our territory. What reciprocity is there if we are not allowed to honour our innocent victims, the men, children and women who were evicted from their roots?”, Idrizi declared.

After explaining each of the articles, Idrizi declared that they are open to any amends by the Parliament. The PJIU declared that if this resolution will not be taken in consideration by Greece, they will follow other legal ways.

“After all diplomatic options will be exhausted, we will appeal to international institutions, because we trust in the human rights and international courts. As a community we are taking consultations to find an international solution to this matter, in case Greece will give no signs for a constructive reaction”, Idrizi declared.

MP Dashamir Tahiri invited the MPs to pass it, while the Foreign Commission members did not comment the resolution which will be discussed in the next meetings.
