Many Trepca miners travel each day to “Horizon 10” of the mine, but for Prime Minister Hashim Thaci this was the second time.

Accompanied by some collaborators, Thaci went 700 meters underground to watch closely their hard work, which used to be a strong element of the economic development in Yugoslavia.

The Prime Minister arrived a few days after his government approved the draft law for the public enterprises, which passes Trepca under the government’s ownership.

Miners say that the work is currently focused in workshop 140, which includes 2600 square meters of land. This is the area where Thaci stopped to give his message. Trepca will belong to Kosovo, its citizens and its miners. He underlined that the dreams of Serbia over Trepca have increased. He promised higher salaries for the Trepca workers within this year.

The Miners reminded that Trepca had been abandoned by institutions during the post-war era. They hope that the new law will put this enterprise on the right track. Thaci refused to speak for the future of the Trepca mines.

As for a question made by Top Channel, regarding a new agency that is expected to be created, and which has been mentioned by his vice, Behgjet Pacolli, the Prime Minister declared: “The future of Trepca is the future of Kosovo. Production, development and creation of new jobs”, Thaci declared.
