Thaci: “Spain must recognize Kosovo. Nothing similar to Catalonia”

In an interview for the Spanish news agency “EFE”, the Kosovo President,
Hashim Thaci, said that the government of Spain should recognize Kosovo
without complexities.
For Thaci, the situations of Kosovo and Catalonia, which also wants independence from Spain, are not at all similar.
“Spain is not Miloshevic’s Serbia, and Catalonia is not Kosovo”, Thaci said during a visit in Munich, for the Security Conference.
“We must not forget that Serbia committed genocide in Kosovo. The recognition from Spain would be the right decision, as soon as possible”, Thaci added.
The Kosovo President concluded his speech by saying “I believe that Spain will not make our life more difficult, because we are friendly countries and we share the same values. I know that Spain has nothing against Kosovo”.
