The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, declared for Free Europe Radio
that the provocations of Serbia towards Kosovo are part of an old
scenario for the division of the country.
“Serbia calculates help from Russia, and this is why a train of Russia was traveling from Belgrade to Kosovo. Nothing was by chance, everything was planned”, Thaci said.
The Kosovo President added that Serbia’s war threats prove the existence of this scenario which aims an annexation and division of northern Kosovo.
Thaci said that Belgrade is ready to victimize the Kosovo Serbs only to realize its own political and military purposes, same as they did in Bosnia Herzegovina and Croatia.
“The word ‘war’ should be removed from the nationalist vocabulary of Serbia. They are threatening today Croatia, they are threatening Bosnia and Herzegovina, they are threatning Montenegro and Kosovo. Serbia is the address that threatens peace and stability in Western Balkan”, Thaci said.
The President of Kosovo added that the war threats should be a concern for all international factors, from NATO to the EU.
“Despite the tense situation, Kosovo appeals Serbia for dialogue and cooperation. If they call for war, we call for peace. If Serbia calls for territorial division, Kosovo calls for EU and NATO integration”, President Thaci added.
