The government of Kosovo used harsher critical tones against the EU, one
day after the conclusions of the European Council for the visa
liberalization.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said that Kosovo ahs implemented the visa liberalization criteria and that Brussels was unclear with absurd delays that could cause disappointment among citizens.
Thaci said that Brussels must know that the Kosovo Albanians have their constitutional right to receive second citizenship in Albania or Macedonia, but this would cause other political dangers, and even protests due to public disappointment.
After Thaci’s declaration, Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said he discussed with the chairman of the EU Office in Kosovo, who promised that the visa liberalization report will come up in the days to come.
The government passed a declaration in which they underline that Kosovo welcomes the visa liberalization without delays.
