Thaci Gruevski meeting

The two political adversaries, Branko Crvenkovski of the Social
Democratic League of Macedonia and Menduh Thaci from the Albanian
Democratic Party in Macedonia, sat for the first time this Wednesday to
make official the cooperation between the subjects that they lead for
the next elections of 2013.

The blocking of the euroatlantic process, the bad economic situation and the lack of democracy in the country were some of the main causes that approached the laders who claim to win the next local elections and delegimitate, as they call it, the wrong policy of the government.

“For the first time in the history of Macedonia, we are reaching today a pre-election agreement between a Macedonian and Albanian party. This is a technical cooperation for mutual support of the candidates for the communes. This is a new positive step in the political relations in Macedona”, Crvenkovski declared.

Menduh Thaci expects that the cooperation of both opposition parties to have the biggest support from the Macedonian citizens. The head of the DP answered to the BDI leader, Ali Ahmeti, who declared one day ago that Thaci has entered a coalition with the Macedonian opposition due to the fear that he will lose the local elections.

“Ahmeti’s declaration was very cynical and ridiculous. It might be as he says, but I have a question for him: what is he afraid of that he keeps being in a coalition with Nikola Gruevski? He is the one that submits to what Gruevski says, as with the amnesty law”, Thaci underlined.

During the conference, Thaci and Crvenkovski admitted that despite the agreement for the next local elections, they still have many differences among each other, as regards the rights of the Albanians in Macedonia.
