The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said he is disappointed and
concerned with the old-style propaganda of Serbia, which keeps planting
hate and fear among ethnic Serbs in northern Kosovo.
Thaci said the propaganda aims to halt their integration with the Kosovo institutions.
“Throughout its entire history, Servia has manipulated and victimized the Serb community in Kosovo for their own interest. The destructive consequences are evident even today”, Thaci said.
He invited Serbia to leave these practices behind, and guarantees the Serb community that Kosovo institutions will cause them nothing bad. “Our institutions are democratic and defend all citizens, despite their ethnicity”, Thaci said.
He asked the EU and NATO to criticize Serbia’s behavior and stand away from scenarios that aim to bring new conflicts in Kosovo and the region.
