A few days before the 10th anniversary of independence, the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, listed some of the achievements but was unable to avoid media’s interest in the Special Court.
“These 10 years have seen progress in every area. There has been internal and external consolidation, 115 countries have recognized Kosovo and we have become part of many international organizations”, Thaci declared.
The President of Kosovo said that this decade saw Kosovo deepening its partnership with the USA, EU and NATO, and easing the relations with Serbia.
The President thanked EULEX for their job, while for the Special Court he said no one is more clearly informed than him about it, and that it remains a historic injustice.
“This is especially when the Court of Hague was recently closed. Kosovo went through Hague, through UNMIK and EULEX, defending itself against Milosevic, and now there comes a report which seems more important than the 400 massacres done in Kosovo. Considering the situation and the position of our state, and also the preservation of our partnership with NATO and the USA, I am committed to discuss every possibility of that report, which, for me, is something unreal”, Thaci said.
“I am committed to talk with the EU because we have nothing to hide. Everyone person who has been accused by EULEX or UNMIK, has not gone hiding or leaving the country, but they went through trial and were found not guilty”, Thaci declared.
