Shadija, the mother of a 13-year-old tetraplegic boy has to travel for
several kilometers to home, just to purchase daily necessities.
They both live in an old house one hour from the Dukaj village of Tepelena, in extreme poverty. Shadija says that she spends half of the day crying and the other half taking care of her child.
The 13 year old boy has the disabled status, and receives a fund from the government. But each time that the documents need to be renewed, the woman is obliged to hold him on her arms for several kilometers, to present him in front of the commission.
“I live only by a pension and last year it was reduced”, she says.
Her family lives only with the incomes of this pension. After the death of her husband one year ago, she says that people are stealing her livestock.
