A bus station, the private business of the father of the Interior
Minister and the residence of a chief of police were the three targets
of an explosive attack. The police thinks the three could be related.
The Prosecution of Serious Crimes is investigating the terrorist acts.

The first explosion blew up at the pharmacy of the father of the Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri. The pharmacy of Bashkim Tahiri was completely destroyed. The explosion was powerful enough to damage even other businesses close to it. The pharmacy was close to the Tirana University Hospital Center. The explosive blew up at 2:55. Investigations show that the explosive was placed at the motor of the air conditioning machine, in the external wall of the pharmacy.

Police had established road blocks and experts were at the site when another explosion blew up at the house of the former Chief of Police no.4 in Korce, Director of the Serious Crimes. The explosion in this building took place at 3:50, one hour later.

What caused more panic was the dynamite placed at a bus station, near the Vasil Shanto school. Police forces made a controlled detonation, by eliminating the risk.

Another detail that might be connected to the case, is that the father of the Interior Minister lives close to the site, whose pharmacy blew up first. All three explosives had different triggering mechanisms. The on at the pharmacy had an electronic one, the one at the apartment building had a fuse, while the one at the bus station had an electric detonator.

These explosions might have been caused by the same group, and it is a clear terrorist act. The Interior Minister met with the Prosecutor General and the Chief of Secret Service. They discussed the priority for finding the authors of this attack as soon as possible.

Experts at the Interior Ministry say that the explosives come from the same hand, which aims to seminate panic and terror. The explosive found at the bus station reinforces the suspect of this mechanism for the experts. Police has taken 12 people who might have information about this, and seized video camera footage from businesses around. The investigations are led by the Prosecutor of Serious Crimes, Besnik Muci, and are considered terror acts.
