Accompanied by his lawyer Genc Gjokutaj, the General Director of the
Registrar’s Office, Armand Teliti, filed a suit at the General
Prosecution against the SP Parliamentary Group, Gramoz Ruçi, over libel
charges.

The suit is based on Gramoz Ruçi’s accusations against Teliti over manipulations with the electoral lists in Tirana. Teliti called Ruci’s accusations as unfounded and he added that he has tusts the Albanian justice.

“Gramoz Ruçi cannot comfort the inconsolable for the loss of Tirana’s elections, by defaming and lying on the screens of the TV stations. I hope that this suit will not only prove me right, but it will also make Mr. Ruçi aware that he should not become a laughing stock on the screens. I trust the Albanian justice, because I believe that now it is time to end the slanders and lies on TV screens”, Teliti declared.

A few days before, the head of the Socialist MPs declared on a TV program that the Registrar’s Office has participated in the manipulation of Tirana’s voters’ list by adding fake voters and by transferring people to Tirana just for the voting process. He also declared that there have been produced fake identity cards for enabling electors to vote more than once.
