The teenage girl from Gjirokaster told for Top Channel how internet strangers made her part of the dangerous Blue Whale game.
She confessed how she physically harmed herself and sent pictures of her body cuts to the internet criminals, until it was discovered by her teacher and friends. The teenage girl warns her peers to stay away from the game that take her life.
“I played it on my friend’s cell phone. She had the application and we played together. Once started, it was very difficult to stop, although I received the information after I started playing. But it was very hard to quit. The game required us to make dangerous things, such as giving the names, birthdays and other information of my parents. The communication was in English. They requested you to slap your face, and send them pictures of it to prove it. The wanted you to starve, wake up at 4 am and even draw the whale figure with cuts on your arms, even on your wrists”, the girl said.
“I reached level 33, which required you to cut your wrist. I didn’t have the courage to do it. One day before reaching level 33 I told my friends that I was playing this game, but he had asked me to not tell anyone. I was absent at school and my friends feared something had happened to me, so they told the teacher. She helped me and reported the fact to the police”, the victim says, as she addresses her peers.
“I want to tell my peers and their parents to avoid this game, because it is very dangerous. They say that if you die, you win the game and you resurrect, which is untrue. I have never seen anyone resurrecting. If the Blue Whale contacts you on social networks, you must say ‘no’ or report it to the police”, the girl says.
