The teacher in question is object of investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Shkodër in northwerters Albania, after a complaint made by the parents of a third-grade child, for violence by the teacher.

The prosecutor’s office requested a psychiatric evaluation of the primary school teacher n northern Albania, which resulted in proof of her mental health problems. But she continues to go to class every day, even though he had not submitted a report of his ability to work for years.

Vice-principal of the school Vera Deda, tells the journalists that they are aware of the problem, after the evaluation report from the forensic institute had arrived at the school, but “they don’t know what decision to make for the teacher”. In the meantime, regarding the lack of the work ability document, she says that she did not submit it last year and this year as well.

Deda says: “We cannot take measures for the teacher, because the law does not stipulate that if this document is not submitted, we can take measures”. Journalists met the teacher who rejects the expert report, as she says that the vice-principal and others are just trying to get her fired. According to her, this is the same tactic they used with her brother a few years ago.

The teacher says that she did not submit the qualification document because she is a senior teacher and it is not an obligation for her. Meanwhile, the family doctor, File Cukaj, admits that it has been years since this patient went to get a work ability document.

The doctor explained that he referred the patient to a specialist, but she categorically refused to do so.

Immediately after the journalists’ communication with the Lezhë Regional Education Directorate, the latter asked the Koplik Local Education Office to suspend the teacher.
