Taxi fares in the capital Tirana have changed by increasing the starting price of the taximeter. This is the decision of the Municipal Council of Tirana, following the demands of the union, with the main reason being the increase in the price of oil.
“The tariff that was used at nighttime is 300 + 50 lek, now it is put in use during the day. Over 12 km was 800 lekë, today it will be 1000 lekë. This addition is made so that the taxi driver can take more income home. 50 lekë is the service added fee offered to the citizen, ie assistance with luggage “, says the interviewed taxi driver Xhevit Bara.
Depending on the areas of Tirana, the price will be calculated on how much a citizen will have to pay.
“On average, in traffic, a taxi ride from 21 Dhjetori to the Madrasa in Tirana, costs up to 5-6 thousand ALL. The taximeter after passing 1.5 km starts and adds 25 lekë per minute. A ride from the city to Rinas airport that used to cost 1700 lekë, now it can take you 2000 lekë “, adds the taxi driver.
