Encouraged by yesterday’s voting in favor of the Special Court, the
Chief Prosecutor of the Investigative Task Force of the EU declared that
the process for creating the Prosecution and the Special Chambers is
not complete.

David Schwendiman said that further steps need to be taken so that Kosovo can be one step away from treating once and forever the serious accusations of the Council of Europe report of 2011.

Schwendiman was appointed as head of the Task Force on December 2014, after several years in Kabul.

From late 2007 until the end of 2009, he was one of four Deputy Chief Prosecutors of Bosnia and Herzegovina and oversaw the Special Department for War Crimes.

Prosecutor Schwendiman represented the US Attorney General in connection with three Olympic Games – Sydney in 2000; Salt Lake City in 2002; Athens in 2004
