TAP wins, Albania will benefit

The Greek prestigious newspaper Kathimerini stated that the “Shah Deniz”
consortium has decided that TAP (Trans Adriatic Project) is the best
project to bring natural gas from Azerbaijan to Europe.
The biggest shareholders informed the Greek Prime Minister about this decision during a meeting they had this Wednesday.
The news is also confirmed by the Austrian giant, OVM, which underlines that the NABUCO project was rejected by investors.
The Greek government has supported TAP since the beginning, together with Italy and Albania, where the pipeline will pass.
According to Athens, Greece will become an important part of the energy map with TAP and its constructionn will create 2000-10,000 jobs with more than 35 billion EUR of macro-economic profits, and 1.2 billion EUR of direct revenues as soon as the construction will start, with 320 million going directly to the Gross Domestic Product.
Experts say that this project will improve the relations with Albania, and will bring a new spirit in the solution of the unsolved issues between the two countries.
Greece, Albania and Italy have supported this project from the beginning. TAP is the only project that goes through our country, and its construction might bring billions in investments and thousands of new jobs.
