Four international giants joined to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline project.
The official news was announced by the consortium, saying that the
project now has the three shareholders of the Shah Deni field and
another Belgian company.
According to the declaration, the British “British Petroleum” and the Azerbaijani state owned gas company has taken 20% of the TAP shares, while the french “Total” and the Belgian “Fluxis” have 10% and 16% respectively.
The Trans Adriatic Pipeline that will pass through Albania now has seven internationl companies in it. The biggest are the British Petroleum, the Norwegian Statoil, and the Azerbaijani state owned company with 20% each.
The Belgian “Fluxis”, known as one of the biggest gas companies in Europe owns 16%; the French Total 10%, and the two other shareholders are the German E ON with 9% and the Swiss Akspo with 5%.
Katjil Tjugland, the general manager of TAP, declared that the new shareholder increase the strategic position of the project and reinforce the financial opportunities for realizing it faster.
The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline that will transport the Caspian gas to Europe will pass through Albania and the project is expected to be concluded in 2019.
