Besides building the gas pipeline, the TAP company will give funds for
reconstructing or building new roads in the area where the pipeline will
go through.
The company declared that they will invest from 40 to 70 million EUR for the supportive infrastructure of the TAP project.
According to the announcement, the company will invest in three districts: Korce, Berat and Fier. The company has planned to rebuild or rehabilitate more than 80 kilometers of roads in these areas, including the national axes that will allow the transportation of heavy machineries that will be used for the construction of the pipeline.
The investments foresee interventions in a number of art works, mainly bridges, in order to make them strong enough to carry the heavy machineries. The deadline of the offers is May 16th.
Sources from the Ministry of Energy say that the tender will be closed soon, which would give the green light to the works in the planned axes.
