The consortium that is building the giant project Trans-Adriatic
Pipeline, which goes accross Albania to bring Azerbaijani gas to Western
Europe, will cost 4.5 billion EUR.
TAP shareholders are negotiating with several development banks to secure a complete funding of the project, which is among the bigger investments in Europe for the moment.
The construction company is currently working with the EBRD and the European Bank of Investments, which could fund 1 billion EUR for each project.
Ian Bradshaw, General Director of the Pipeline said for Turkish media that the total funding of the project will be realized within this year.
The works on terrain are advancing quickly. The company said they have laid 40 kilometers of pipes in Albania, and 100 kilometers in Greece.
The TAP construction will be over by 2019, and will transport more than 10 billion cubic meters of gas a year to European markets.
