During a ceremony for the 101st anniversary of the state Police, the
Interior Minister of Albania, Saimir Tahiri, answered to the recet
debates regarding some police operations, saying that they will not only
continue, but will be intensified.
He encouraged every police officer and said that they have the government’s support to fight illegality and serve the citizens.
“There’s a debate, often unjustly connected to the everyday job made by the State Police. I want to guarantee every police employee that our battle in front of illegality, organized crime and corruption, has several challenges and difficulties. I want to encourage every police officer to do their duty by respecting the law, by respecting the basic human rights”, Tahiri declared.
The Minister declared that our country does have criminality, but the right reforms are giving results against crime.
“Criminality is massive and the tendency of illegality is massive in our country. That’s how we found it. On the other hand, the challenge of the state police to face criminality starts within itself, from the need to get reformed and to become stronger for facing crime”, Tahiri declared.
Medals and gratitude certifications were distributed after the meeting for several police experts.
