Tahiri: Judge releases criminals

The Interior Minister asked the Albanian President to take measures
against a Kavaja judge, whom he accuses of having released all the
people who have been arrested in the city’s police precinct.
Minister Saimir Tahiri writes to President Bujar Nishani: “The absurd and often illegal decisions of this judge are a serious concern for the state police, which is obliged to fight crime against the same people who are set free by scandalous court verdicts. Trusting that you share the same opinion on impunity, I believe that you will review the material and put the High Council of Justice in motion”.
The Interior Minister has listed the verdicts given in the past two months. The judge has had 10 cases and released all of the defendants. The most serious accusations have been about rape, arms traffic, robbery, driving under the influence and others.
