The former Interior Minister appeared in court today where Judges left his house arrest order in effect.
Tahiri said that the house arrest is the same thing as an arrest in prison. He opposed the arguments of Judge Liliana Baku: “You argue that I have the ability to contaminate the evidence. This is impossible. You used this argument to block my passport as well. Now that I am a free citizen, you are following the same criteria as if I was an MP. There is no chance that I can leave now that I handed over my mandate as MP”, he said.
Prosecutor Besim Hadarmataj said that they have sent to other recommendations in Italy and Montenegro, to secure other evidence. “There seems to be evidence that a powerboat ought by Orges Liperi for 15,000 EUR has passed the Customs. There seems to be evidence that Tahiri has dined in Greece with Artan Habilaj. We will confirm that many data do not result in the TIMS system, as it is the case for Moisi Habilaj”, Hajdarmataj declared.
The Prosecutor said that there are suspicions that the money found inside Orest Sota’s car belonged to Saimir Tahiri.
