Tafili and Marashi at court

Admir Tafili, one of the seven fugitives who escaped this Saturday from
the Drenova High Security Prison, admitted at court that he had
organized the entire plan due to the unfair sentence given to him.

The other fugitive, Fran Marashi, declared that he had undertaken that measure due to the unfair verdict. He also added that the guns had entered the prison through another inmate, and that during the escape he had asked the police officers to lie down, so that he wouldn’t hurt them.

The Korce Court considered Tafili as a very dangerous man for the society, and left him to prison, together with Ervis Lami, the man who is suspected of throwing a grenade during the escape.

The Court of First Instance in Korce gave the arrest measure for two people who organized the escape. Albi Moncimi and Olsian Moncimi are accused of illegal arm possession and helping the prisoners escape.

The measure for the guardians will be reviewed this Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Albanian police announced once again that the three prisoners who left the Drenova prison might be in Greece, although the Greek police rejects this.

The police was informed this Monday by a shepherd who had seen three people traveling on mules in the Dardha area.

The fugitives Eduart Lulo, from Permet, Reiz Haxhiraj, from Vlore, and Gezim Toma, from Diber, were initially thought to be traveling to Kolonja for crossing the border from Gramoz. The police found the three mules close to the Greek border, which raised the theory that they were already in Greece, but the Greek police excludes this possibility.
