The town of Konitsa, Greece, is sheltering 162 people who have left
Syrian battlegrounds. Mahmud, one of the many young men who has found
shelter in the Konitsa high-school premises, while trying to escape war
by traveling to Germany, says he hope to continue his trip through
Albania.

“I am from Daria, Syria. We are hoping that Albania will let us pass through. We hope to go to Italy and from there to Germany. Every other border is closed, from Hungary to Macedonia. That’s why we are waiting in the Albanian border. My message for the Albanian authorities is to help us with our path to Germany”, he says.

The Director of the refugee center says no one is stopping refugee movements. “They are not detained by the police and they are free to travel”, she says.

The Greek authorities say behind cameras that rumors are they are going to stay for another 15 days and then go through Albania.
