Syndicates went silent on May 1st, while Albanian workers remain the lowest paid in the region

The two biggest syndicates in the country have made May 1st a holiday and didn’t announce any public activity.

In the past 28 years of free market economy, Albanian workers have been almost unrepresented for their rights.

According to INSTAT, the average wage during the past year reached 52.312 ALL, with an annual growth of 3.4%, but it remains the lowest in the region, according to the IMF.

Citizens feel that the payments are very low in Albania and that’s why young people are leaving the country.
