Lots decided that Switzerland’s national football team, full of Albanian players, will be on the same group with Serbia for the Russia 2018 World Cup, and there could be tensions.
Xherdan Shaqiri, Switzerland’s Albanian forward, and one of the key players for the team, tried to soften the tensions by saying: “Many think there will be more politics in this match since I and other teammates are Kosovo Albanians. It is true that Kosovo and Serbia went to war, but this is football. This is about a football match, nothing more”, he declared.
