Swedish ambassador: “No asylum for Albania, concerns about flux”

The Swedish Ambassador to Tirana, Patrik Svensson, spoke about the exodus of Albanian citizens to Western countries.
“The Swedish Authorities are concerned about this flux”, Svensson declared from Kukes, one of the most affected districts.
The Swedish diplomat underlines that the asylum requests are accepted only for people who are persecuted or in danger.
“We accept the requests of people who are in danger because of the war. Albania is not at war, that’s why citizens must think before undertaking this risk”, Svensson declared.
On the other hand, he appealed the government to take responsibility and inform citizens about the visa regime.
“It is important to implement the visa regime correctly, so that there are no abuses”, Svensson declared.
