Summoned to discuss the budget of 2018, representatives of the Science Academy were surprised to learn that 108.555 ALL were given to this institution for the next year.
Academic Apollon Bace said that academics in Kosovo are paid five times more, and no one accuses them of being paid for nothing. “A country cannot be developed without science”, he said.
Academics asked MPs to intermediate a meeting with the Prime Minister. “There is no serious communication between the Academy and the government. We are facing an absurd, suspended situation”, said academic Foresha Dado.
Academic Artan Fuga said that they are ready to implement reforms, and have not made any resistance to this request. He asked MPs to negotiate a meeting with the Prime Minister, promising that they would not disappoint with this budget.
