The Prosecution started a case against a private hospital surgeon in
Tirana, who has allegedly neglected with the test results of a patient
and caused her dangerous tumor to advance.
The 27-year-old woman had a surgery on her right breast, and showed the ultrasonographic results to the surgeon with initials D.B, who did not order a biopsy test for two suspected tumors seen on this result.
In these conditions, the tumor has advanced and the patient was urgently hospitalized in another private clinic, where she this mass was removed. After the surgery, the patient left to Italy where she underwent chemotherapy.
The Prosecution says that the neglecting doctor has deteriorated the patient’s conditions and put her life to danger by not removing the tumor mass on time.
As for Sonila Neco’s case, who received chemotherapy treatment without having a tumor, the Prosecution says that there is no careless treatment by the two doctors who are being investigated, but the method followed by this hospital is wrong.
Based on this argument the Prosecution appealed the Criminal Court decision which orders the Prosecution to reopen the case, since judges valued that the investigation has not been objective.
