Supreme State Audit testifies at CEZ, SP finds it invalid due to lack of quorum

The Chairman of the Supreme State Audit, Bujar Leskaj, testified at the
Investigative Parliamentary Commission requested by the opposition
regarding the passing of “CEZ Distribution” company (Energy
distribution) under government control in 2014.

The majority was not present and the quorum was not reached, but this didn’t stop the chairman of the commission, Edmond Spaho from the DP, to continue collecting the declaration.

Leskaj defended the SSA report, which mentions the 480 million EUR damage after the agreement with the Czech Company, and continued with the request for a criminal prosecution against the Minister of Energy, Damian Gjiknuri, and the State Advocate Alma Hicka.

He added that the Prosecution had suspended this case without keeping in mind that the case was appealed at the Supreme Court by the SSA.

The SP reacted and said that Leskaj’s declaration was invalid, since it was held against the rules. “His testimony is nullified and has no legal power as evidence in this case”, said Vasilika Hysi, Chairwoman of the Investigative Commission.

The session will continue another day with questions made by Democratic Party MPs.
