The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared that the territorial
reform is the main scheme for supporting agriculture, fishing and for
encouraging rural development.
During a meeting for the agriculture, Rama underlined that the government is determined to push forward the territorial reform project.
“We all agree that we néed a territorial reform, and this reform is not simply a new administrative division, it is not simply a necessary cut of useless spending, but it is also a new opportunity for creating new conditions for a constant development of our country. This is the opportunity to give to ourselves a new ability for treating the vital sources, starting from water, land and all natural resources, which are the basis of the revenues in the agriculture sector”, Rama declared.
The Prime Minister underlined that a territory that imposes fragmentation of the water system administration, transport, waste collection, planning systems and financing of the activities n the rural area, is also an basis that is not favorable for any development policy in our nation and in the region.
“For this reason, the new administrative units create a new instrument for maximalizing the foreing help and the alternative financing, besides the financing from the state budget. When we talk about rural development, the rural territorial reform creates a new administrative space for the agricultural market and gives us the possibility to integrate a chain, which starts from parcels in the countryside, to the market in cities. The territorial reform is the mains cheme of supporting agriculture, fishing and for encouraging rural development”, Rama declared.
The Head of the Albanian government underlined that the profit measure for agricultural production companies has increased with 40%, while the entire system of the scheme for supporting agriculture has been renewed.
“We are facing new challenges ahead. We need to answer to the difficult situation in which we found the countryside, which needs economic help immediately”, Rama declared.
