After 18 higher education institutions had their licenses revoked, the
Ministry of Education has to manage 6000 students who should continue
the higher education.
The Minister of Education, Lindita Nikolla, declared that experts are working with each case of these students, based on their results and merit.
“All students of those 18 institutions that will be closed will continue their education in the public universities. We are working for planning all procedures for treating the 6000 students that are affected”, Nikolla declared.
Do public and private universities have capacities for these students. A sudden increase of the umber of students might damage their accrediting process. If universities accept more students than allowed, they might be punished during the quality audit.
Sources at the Ministry of Education say there will be no overpopulation of universities, and the distribution will be made based on the grades of students.
The Minister of Education said that within two years, these universities can improve and meet the requirements again.
“The law gives a two-year suspension, which means that no students will be registered in the first semester for these two years. Everything depends on your work. I guarantee all students who have been graduated in these institutions that the law will not affect them”, Nikolla declared.
