A group of students marched on Tuesday to the Prime Minister’s office, where they protested for the sixth day in a row against the increase in prices of fuel and food basket products.

Although fewer in number, the protesters stressed that the government’s ‘Social Resistance Package’ is not the right measure, as a large part of the population has been ignored.

This morning a group of students with a megaphone invited all young people to gather at 16:30 in a march towards the Prime Minister’s office, with the desire to restore the students protest movement of the 2018. Some of them boycotted the classes.

Also in Debar, dozens of citizens responded to the call of a civil society group to protest against the prices’ increase.

The movement of citizens came after the immediate rise in the price of food products and hydrocarbons as a result of the war in Ukraine, according to the government.

In today’s meeting, the National Hydrocarbon Management Board decided that the price of oil and gasoline should be 211 ALL per liter.
