The Prosecution General asked the local prosecutions to investigate every official who doesn’t report environment crimes.
This order was made public by the investigation director at the Prosecution General, Adnan Xholi, during a conferece for preventing crime against environment in our country.
The Environment Minister asked harsher punishments for this type of crime.
“This legislation has not been implemented in the past years. We have had urban waste dumps in water basins, the coastline, lakes and traditional roads, which have increased the environmental degradation dosage. In these conditions, the existing system is not enough and we need to reach a complete level of respecting and protecting the environment”, declared Diana Bejko, Deputy Minister of Environment.
“I guarantee that the role of the Ministry of Justice in this area will be not only supportive for making harsher sanctions against environmental crime”, declared the Minister of Justice, Nasip Naco.
170 people have been investigated in 2013 for fights against the environment.
