Stolen evidence, fingerprints not from Court staff

The investigators gave the first results for the fingerprints that were
found in the Evidence Room of the Court of Serious Crimes, in which were
stolen 300.000 EUR and 50.000 ALL that were seized for the case of
Arben Veliko.

Unofficial sources say that the fingerprints do not belong to any of the Court’s employees, who were the main suspects for this theft of scandalous proportions.

Tirana Prosecution has tasked Prosecutor Zeqir Hodo to continue the investigations, while Tirana Police Department 3, which covers this area, are also investigating the case. None of them have given any comment.

Investigators have interrogated the employees that had access to the Evidence Room, while no measure has been taken against any Court employee, although the Ministry of Justice declared that this would be done in the first 24 hours.

There is no suspect yet, and the authorities are inspecting the evidence for any possible contamination. The thief had taken only 300.000 EUR, but he has left a diamond ring and 10 Rolex watches.

The President of the Court of Serious Crimes declared that this was sabotage and that the suspect ought to be among the Court employees, but the investigators have reached no valid conclusions yet.
