For Saimir Tahiri, the outgoing Interior Minister, the tragedy of Gërdeci is a reflection of the justice system in Albania. 9 years ago in the explosion of an arms dismantling depot in 26 people lost their life.
“Today is perhaps one of the most alarming days when we remind the great injustice every citizen experiences in court halls. Even today there is still no justice for the Gërdeci victims and above that some of the responsible people have risen publicly and dare lecture on what Albania is today and what will become tomorrow”, Tahiri said.
“I have been Minister of the Interiors and for that I must personally apologize for what we could not do on this matter”, he added.
