Statkraft wants to build a solar plant on Banja’s Lake

The Norwegian company “Statkraft” wants to build a floating photovoltaic implant to produce solar energy from the Banja hydropower plant in Elbasan.

Statkraft is present in Albania with several concessions of hydropower plants. One of them is the Banja hydropower plant, which is now producing energy.

The Norwegian company applied at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy for the respective permits. The installed capacity will be 2MW and energy will be sold in the free market.
