Elisa Spiropali said on Top Story that the Socialist Party has allowed the Prosecution to freely investigate the “Tahiri” matter, by searching his residence and his personal belongings.
Spiropali said that different from the past government, this majority did not protect its MPs when they were accused by the Prosecution. She mentioned January 21st and the request of the Prosecution to arrest the National Guard officers.
“We did not hide Saimir Tahiri as they did. This standard has changed. But we will not allow him to be lynched”, she said.
Braimllari from the Socialist Movement for Integration said that the vote of the majority to not allow the Prosecution proceed with Tahiri’s arrest, broke the trust to justice and to the judiciary reform, which has been hailed so long as their main principle.
Braimllari said that the majority is pressuring the Prosecution, because they have ties with the drug traffic. “MPs should have immunity against political attacks, but not for drug traffic charges”, he declared.
Spiropali replied by saying that the decision of the majority was conditioned by the evidence, which show that Saimir Tahiri is part of a political attack.
