The Commander of the Shkoder Special Police was shot and killed this
Saturday during an operation. The police was trying to apprehend 50 year
old Ruzhdi Arishta, who responded with fire.
Arishta had just wounded a 21-year-old a few minutes before he was surrounded by the police. He reacted by shooting the agents and wounding commander Simon Gjeta, who died later in hospital.
Arishta had fought with his neighbor about a fence between the homes. The 21-year-old neighbor who was shot on the shoulder was sent to the hospital, out of life threatening danger.
