The Special Forces of RENEA have surrounded the Shendelli village in
Saranda, where police officers were shot during an operation for
catching a fugitive.

The mobile unit ordered the surrounding of the village, together with other special police. Police received fire from three different directions while making an operation in one residence, while looking for Taulant Gjini, wanted for attempted murder.

The vehicle carrying the police officers received several bullets, but fortunately, none of the agents were hurt.

The police requested help from the Vlore Directory, which engaged the Special Units in Shendelli. The RENEA forces arrived from Tirana and joined the operation for finding the fugitives.

Police officers have taken more than 30 local residents for interrogation, suspecting that the bullets came from their homes.

There are three suspects, together with Taulant Gjini. Police found the weapons that have been used and sent them to a lab for fingerprints.

The General Police Directory declared that no attack against officers will be tolerated, and that the Special Forces will not leave Saranda without bringing the authors to justice.
