The Special anti-corruption Court said today that it will make a last effort on Monday to notify former Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his lawyers about the decisions announced against him from October 20, when the measure “Compulsion to appear” was announced, in relation to the case of corruption in which his son-in-law was arrested.
The last move is to be carried out through the invitees and then expected to be followed by the sending of partial appeals to the Court of Appeal.
The court cannot proceed to the appeal, without exhausting the last action, which in case of rejection will start the countdown of five more days.
This means that between the insistence to notify it and the continuous refusals by Berisha, the possibilities are that until November 20 the file will remain frozen, that is, neither in the appeal nor in the first instance.
However, in a situation where the former prime minister has not obeyed the court to be present on November 6 and when the decision remains in force, the court announced another decision against the former prime minister and Jamarbër Malltezi, where he explains why he rejected their requests for the removal of the security measure.
The court emphasizes that the rights of the investigated persons have not been violated and cites three positions on similar issues of the European Court against the citizens of Greece, the Netherlands and France.
