The Albanian President Bamir Topi launched the ceremony of Special Albanian Olimpic
Games for 2011, with the participation of 300 young people with
disabilities. This is the fourth year that this ceremony is being held
in Tirana.

“You will pass with the lit torch through this boulevard which is Tirana’s main street, where stand the main institutions of our country. And this must have the symbolism of peace. No one demonstrates peace better than you, people who despite physical difficulties, are able to overcome everything, able to perceive the message of competition, participation and peace, by telling others to be less egocentric, less indifferent, because life is not only the commodity of the offices they represent”, Topi declared.

The President appealed for more support and human sensitivity from all institutions, business, common people and society.

Present in this ceremony were Head of OSCE Presence in Tirana, ambassador Eugen Wollfarth; deputy ambassador of United Kingdom, Elisabeth Evans; Vice Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports, Dashnor Bajaziti; President of the Albanian Football Federation, Armando Duka; representatives and directors of Albanian National Olympic Committee; Foundation “Vodafone Albania”; “Don Bosco” Social Center; President of Special Olympics, Ismet Bellova and other famous personalities of Albanian sport.
