Speaker Ruci: “Parliament didn’t rush with new Prosecutor”

28/12/2017 14:01

The Parliament Speaker, Gramoz Ruci, declared on Top Channel’s Top Story that the Parliament did not rush with the appointing of the Provisory Prosecutor General.

“The Parliament’s regulation has terms and deadlines for the Prosecution. If the mandate expires, the Parliament has 30-40 days to organize the procedure for the next representative. After the commission comes up with the report, the Parliament has only one week. There was no rushing. We followed concrete institutional steps”, the Speaker said.

Ruci rebuked the accusations of the opposition, who claim that these procedures were against the Constitution.

“This is an alibi for political debate. The session was held on Monday. If it was held on Thursday, it would have been the same”, he said.
